The Data Tamer

Your business software needs to be improved. It’s inefficient and clumsy.

You rely on three or four critical applications to run your business, but they don’t work well together. To make matters worse, you have to enter the same data multiple times in a frustrating exercise in deja vu.

You know you need a change, but can’t afford the down-time, stress, and disruption associated with integrating new software applications in your business.

Sound familiar?

It does to us. We hear this every day from nearly every client. That’s why we have a guiding principal of “staged migration”, essentially solving your problems in phased, manageable pieces by introducing incremental software fixes. We incorporate as much of the existing software investment as possible, focusing on what it does well, and eliminate the rest. There’s plenty of time to adjust, with minimal trauma to the business.

Most of our clients have one or more of the following challenges. Please click on them to learn more, then give us a call to see how we can help you.

  • Software Obsolescence
Problem: Business software quickly becomes obsolete.

Software vendors are constantly upgrading software to new versions and computer manufacturers are continually changing hardware platforms. Software vendors drop support for previous versions of their software as soon as they can. Many businesses invest in a software product without wanting to spend money and time purchasing and installing upgrades. All companies sooner or later run into the problem of making a new computer purchase, only to discover their critical business database software will not run on it.

    Solution:

Build a bridge between what you have and what you need by introducing a virtual platform that supports legacy software. Place a virtual platform layer between a new platform (e.g., the latest version of Windows on new hardware) and the legacy software to keep it afloat. This buys time for a staged migration to a newer system.

It is usually possible to install special software on new computers that will make it compatible with the business database software currently in use, thus preserving the current database system. This allows plenty of time for a new system to be developed while still using the current software, even on new computers.
